PET WELLâ INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS
The Pet Wellâ was designed to hold just about any size water bottle on the market today, and to accommodate any size Pet. These are the same 2 to 6 gallon bottles that are carried by water stores and bottled water delivery companies.
Although any source of water can be used in the Pet Wellâ, it was designed for purified water. The special check valve keeps the water on the bottle side clean and pure while dispensing fresh water in the bowl on the other side as your Pet drinks.
PET WELLâ INSTRUCTIONS
The Pet Wellâ is suited for indoor or outdoor use. We recommend it be placed in a corner or against a wall. Outdoor Pet Wellsâ should not be placed in direct sunlight. Shaded areas are highly recommended to keep the water cool and to preserve the life of the bottle and valve. Although we have had no problems with pets knocking the bottle off, a luggage strap, (the kind found at department stores), placed around the Pet Wellâ and bottle, can give you added security while you are away from home.
PET WELLâCLEANING
We recommend that the entire Pet Wellâ be washed out once a week. However, our customers have told us it is not necessary to pick up the Pet Wellâ but about every 4 to 8 weeks! All they do is skim the bowl with a cup or strainer and more fresh water flows in. Since there is always fresh water in the bottle the bowl stays much cleaner than other dispensers do. Another “indoor” method is to use a “wet vac” to suck the water out in a matter of seconds (our personal favorite method) and fresh water will flow back in. "Outdoor" Pet Well’sâ can be rinsed quickly by spraying with a hose set on high pressure. At the right angle the bowl can be cleaned in a matter of seconds with the bottle still on.
If the valve has been removed, the Pet Wellâ will not overflow! The valve is there to stop dirt and bacteria from backing up into the bottle and crock. If your Pet Wellâ overflows, it means there is a hole or crack in the bottle! A new bottle can be found in water stores or grocery stores, most all commercial water bottles will work. The neck of the bottle has to be long enough to keep the water level in the dish low enough so that it does not overflow. The length of the neck of the bottle determines the water level.
PET WELLâ SAFETY NOTICE
Care should be taken when the Pet Wellâ is used around small children. The water dish check valve has a round rubber part that might be pulled out by a small child and possibly swallowed. Please do not let small children play with, or around the Pet Wellâ water dispenser. If the rubber part gets pulled out, it may be reinstalled by inserting the “handle” part of the valve into the center hole of the black valve and pulling it back into place, (carefully) from inside the crock with a pair of tweezers, you will feel a slight snap and the front of the valve will be flush with the black plastic section.
CAUTION: The Pet Wellâ is ceramic. Although it is a strong material, it can be broken if handled improperly. As with any glass product, broken ceramic can cause serious or fatal injury. Again, please don’t let small children play with or around the Pet Wellâ.
